Lots of changes have occurred in the media. We look entirely different. There is now a storytime area in the Easy section where I can teach primary classes. Over the course of two weeks we have been hosting media lessons in the library for all classes.
K-2 have been learning about library manners, book care and book check out procedures.
3-5 have been learning about the different resources in the media such as the OPAC, Reading Counts and Internet searching methods.
We had our first puppet show to celebrate National School Bus Safety Week. It was based on the book, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! by Mo Willems. It was a great show! K,1 and 2 loved the pigeon and did NOT let him drive...way to go guys!
The media will be hosting a Internet Resource Night on Wednesday, November 18 from 6pm-7pm in the media. We will be highlighting some tools and resources on the web for use when researching. With a focus on upcoming social studies and science projects each family will leave with a handout with all resources discussed.
Space is limited so contact me ASAP to hold your spot. A flyer will be coming home to all students this week with the registration form. Feel free to contact me for more information clmcginn@volusia.k12.fl.us or 386-575-4215 x-41196.
